Electric spindles integrate the machine tool spindle and the spindle motor, offering advantages such as compact structure, light weight, low inertia, low vibration, low noise, and fast response. Lower-cost lathes cannot utilize electric spindles due to their high cost; however, they are a better choice when higher processing accuracy and speed are required. Mechanical spindles are used in general machine tools. Mechanical spindles are larger but easier to maintain, making them more convenient for machining that does not require very high precision.
